Anu Dudley, a doctoral candidate in history, recently received a $5,000 grant to conduct research on 19th century medical practices. The New England Research Fellowship Consortium provided the grant.
Dudley had previously studied and will continue to study medical texts, doctor’s daybooks, and medical instruments from the 19th century. She conducted research at the New Hampshire Historical Society, the Massachusetts Historical Society, Countway Library at Harvard Medical School and Historic Deerfield, Mass.
