* UMaine groups or offices can now participate in the Adopt-A-Child program, providing gifts for needy children this Christmas. * An anxiety reduction workshop, presented by Brent Elwood, Ph.D., will be held 12:30-2 p.m. in the Walker Room on the third floor of Memorial Union. Coming up
* The University of Maine and the Agent Institute will host the fourth First LEGO League’s robotics fair and tournament competition 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Orono High School. The event is the season finale for 54 teams of children ages nine to 14 from across Maine who have been working for several months to build LEGO robots to solve problems. Doors will open at 8 a.m.
* “Developing and Maintaining Healthy Relationships” will be presented by Alan Butler, Ph.D. and Elaine Kasket, M.A. 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9, in the Walker Room, 3rd floor of Memorial Union. The workshop will explore the necessary ingredients in a healthy relationship, identify factors to help better understand relationships, and offer exercises to improve communication and deepen relationships with friends, partners and roommates. * Escaped Sudanese slave Francis Bok will discuss how he survived 10 years in bondage to become an activist with the American Anti-Slavery Group at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9 in 100 DPC.
