Eminem has scored his highest ever U.S. chart hit with new single “Just Lose It.”

The song went in at No. 17, making it the fourth highest new entry of 2004.

“Just Lose It” is taken from the rapper’s newest album ‘”Encore,” which is due to be released Nov. 15.

Eminem’s previous highest U.S. chart hits were “Lose Yourself” at 43, and “Without Me” at 44, two years ago.

Longtime collaborator Dr. Dre and 50 Cent both appear on his new album.

John Lennon’s killer Mark Chapman will appear before a parole board later this week in a bid to secure his freedom.

Chapman, 49, was sentenced to 20 years to life in jail for shooting the former Beatle in the back outside his New York apartment on Dec. 8, 1980.

Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono is opposing his release along with 2,000 fans who have signed an online petition campaigning for him to remain in prison for the rest of his natural life.

Ono believes that Chapman remains a threat to the safety of her and Lennon’s sons, Sean and Julian.

Chapman’s last bid for release in 2002 was rejected on the grounds that it would diminish the seriousness of his crime.
