Chemistry Seminar
“Molecular Mechanisms of Biological Responses to Environmental Agents: Allergens and Arsenic” will be presented by Julie Gosse of Dartmouth Medical School as a department of chemistry special seminar. The seminar will be held at 11 a.m. in Rokm 316 Aubert Hall.
Peace Studies Venezuela Trip
At 3:30 p.m. in the Coe Room of Memorial Union, Barb Blazej will give details about the spring 2007 delegation trip to Venezuela, as well as answering questions. Georges Kabche, a UMaine graduate student from Venezuela, and Emily Cain, Orono’s state representative, will be present to share their thoughts and experiences.
“Inconvenient Truth” Showing
The student chapter of the wildlife society will host a movie night where they will show “An Inconvenient Truth” at 5:30 p.m., in Room 204 Nutting Hall.

A farewell reception will be held for Lavon Bartel at 4 p.m. in the Buchanan Alumni House.

Walking Tour
A holiday walking tour of eight homes and two churches in Orono’s historic district will run from noon to 4 p.m., beginning at the Church of Universal Fellowship at 82 Main St., Orono.
Sunday
Kwanzaa Celebration
Maine’s largest Kwanzaa celebration, sponsored by the Greater Bangor Area NAACP, will occur at 5 p.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church at 120 Park St. All are welcome to participate in this cultural celebration.
