Airport security checkpoints, Thanksgiving, “High School Musical 3″ and Bangor Car Care commercials are what won Joe Burnham the title of Last Comic Standing on Friday night.
At the annual University of Maine stand-up comedy contest Burnham proved to be too much for fellow finalist Chris Drozell.
Percy Clarke has been manager of the University of Maine’s e-Sports arcade since its inception in 2004, always conducting himself with amiability and a smile.
“To me, a quarter’s a quarter. If you lose one today, another one tomorrow, that’s 50 cents,” Percy said, sitting on a bench in the Memorial Union game spot. Nine Black Bears scored in double figures and Troy Barnies grabbed a career-high 20 rebounds as the UMaine men’s basketball team defeated the University of Maine at Presque Isle Thursday night at Alfond Arena.
Residents on Campus attempted to satisfy the large demand for its Quebec trip, but there were too few tickets for students, some of whom waited up to four hours in line. 263 students are going to Quebec on the trip. Others are disappointed they waited for nothing.

A University of Maine student attempted to Rick Roll the Student Government presidential election with widespread write-ins. Jesus, John McCain and Rick Astley, among others, got votes for Student Government president, alongside Vice Presidential elect Ross Wolland. Despite the attempt, write-ins were used less than last year.
