Alcohol in Androscoggin

A resident assistant in Androscoggin Hall witnessed three female students drinking in a first-floor room, one of which appeared to be in medical distress, and placed a report to police on Jan. 21 at 11:08 p.m. Officers arrived to the room and were denied access to the room by one student. Eventually, the officers gained access, determined the students were underage and seized any alcohol. There was no medical emergency. The case was referred to judicial affairs.

Bike rack ingenuity

A report was called in of a missing bike rack at Knox Hall on Jan. 21 at 9:48 p.m. When officers responded, they found that several male students had taken it to make a part of a “ski jump.” The students were cooperative when the officer spoke with two of them, and mentioned that it wasn’t working out as they had planned anyway. The bike rack was put back in its place.

Not-so-secret smoking

On Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m., an Oak Hall RA reported the smell of marijuana coming from a second-floor room. An officer responded and investigated the room. Although no drugs were seized, the officer could smell marijuana smoke and referred the case to judicial affairs.

Noise negation

A second-floor Somerset Hall room that had been exceedingly noisy had been asked by an RA to quiet down on Jan. 21 at 12:45 a.m. When they refused to lower the noise level, the RA called reported the noise. When the officers responded, the students in the room complied.

Oxford hall break-in

Police received report of a burglary in Oxford Hall on Jan. 20 at 11:10 p.m. The third-floor room had been entered that evening and when the student returned to the room, they found that their belongings had been rummaged through. The RA on duty called in the report on behalf of the student. Nothing was stolen, but the case is under investigation.
