Mr. Connerly-Marin's obvious bias against Democrats is evident here. There were at least 20 students at the event, as others have said. Hell, he even had to make corrections since he couldn't remember LAST YEAR'S ELECTION. Shame on the Maine Campus for letting some uneducated and uninformed bumpkin have front-page access.

Both political parties are morally bankrupt and their politicians are so out-of-touch with regular Mainers (who do not make 200 k a year) that I find little hope for the Nation for the next dozen years.
I want to appoligize to UMaine students. My generation has left you a country in far worse shape than it was when it was left to us.

Four students? 25? Were they enrolled in colleges or middle schools? The speeches seem to have been written for the latter. Either way they left without a clue about who will be paying for all the goodies they are invited to enjoy and anticipate.

Let me see if I understand this, George Mitchell asks himself a rhetorical question and does not provide an answer? Is he a total moron?

To Noel Madore point, if it really was 25 students, then shame on the writer and the paper, if it really was 4, then shame on Noel Madore. I find dishonesty despicable, and I dont care which direction it comes from.

Zach Marin should be ashamed of his arithmetic The rally had a fair turnout of over twenty five students attending, with much enthusiasm. The newspaper should fix this promptly, among the many problems with this article.

It is truly encouraging that more than twice as many speakers showed up at the Wells Center than the students. I am starting to get some hope that students are paying attention to the change in our country over the last four years. After reading what the speakers had to tell them, I think they are starting to put two and two together and realize that most of what they have heard for 4 years is pure BS.
I especially like what Janet Mills had to say about the poverty level in Maine. She said we are at 14.1% now, and it has gone up under Gov. LePage. Does she not even see what is going on in the rest of the country??? The national poverty level is the "highest it has been since the Great Depression." Does that quote sound familiar??
The fear tactics used by these speakers is unspeakable. All of these pundits declare that Maine needs "Clean Energy" and are more than likely in favor of the Industrial Wind Turbines that are being put up on the most pristine mountaintops in our most precious wilderness areas in Maine. It is truly folly to believe that Maine "is the Saudi Arabia of wind" as Angus King has stated. We are actually in the bottom 89th percentile of wind for the whole country. We already produce more than 50% of our energy from renewable sources in Maine, and have the technology to produce more without any new upgrades to our grid. Wind will make us spend another $19 to $26 Billion to make it work. These politicians are truly tilting at windmills for a failed agenda.
I am glad to see that our young people are rejecting their hyped rhetoric and maybe are changing their beliefs.
