Upon inspection, the University of Maine Police Department (UMPD) assessed that the damages totaled less than $2,000, so a crash report was not filed.

At 5 p.m., a property damage crash was reported at the Hilltop parking lot after a student reported a hit-and-run incident that caused damages to their vehicle. UMPD was able to locate the student who fled the scene and charged them with a misdemeanor of failure to notify the owner of a property damage crash. Around 1 a.m., a disorderly complaint was received concerning two male students engaged in a loud argument in a hallway at Somerset Hall. UMPD officers responded and identified the students as brothers residing near one another. They were instructed to return to their rooms and cease the shouting. No further complaints were filed.

At 1:30 a.m., another report came in from Somerset Hall—this time regarding an alcohol offense. The report indicated that a visibly intoxicated male student was walking in the hallways. When UMPD made contact with the student, they discovered he was under the legal drinking age and resisted questions about where, how or why he had been drinking. A report was completed, and the student was referred to conduct.

Around midnight, a suspicious complaint was reported outside of York Hall concerning loud screaming noises originating from outside the hall. UMPD arrived on scene and searched for individuals outside the building, but no suspects were located.

At 7 p.m., an alcohol offense was filed at the Alfond Sports Arena during the hockey game. UMPD found a student walking around the arena, clearly intoxicated. The student attempted to flee from the officers but was apprehended. After asking for identification, officers discovered that the student is of legal drinking age and currently a member of a fraternity near campus named Delta Tau Delta. The student was removed from the venue and referred to conduct, with the report indicating that the student will likely be banned from the arena for the academic year.

At 10:30 p.m., a criminal mischief report was filed at the entrance of the DeMerritt Forest Trail near the Hilltop parking lot. The report shared that items set up along the trail for a collaborative research project between the UMaine and University of New Hampshire forestry departments had been destroyed. UMPD was unable to locate any suspects.

10/19:

Around 1 p.m., a property damage crash was reported near the Beckett Family Track & Field. A student shared that he accidentally sideswiped the car directly beside him while exiting a parking space. He mentioned that the parking lot was particularly busy due to a game. UMPD found damages totaling less than $2,000, so a crash report was not filed.

Around 2:30 p.m., a disorderly conduct report was filed after an unruly male non-student aggressively resisted arrest from responding UMPD officers. There was no specific mention of where on campus the report was filed. Once apprehended, officers discovered that the man was on campus because his sister is a UMaine student and he was visiting during homecoming. The male suspect was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently detained by officers.

At 7 p.m., a property damage crash was reported at the Hilltop Lot after a student attempted to park their vehicle and accidentally sideswiped the vehicle directly beside them while pulling into a parking spot between two parked vehicles. Due to damages exceeding $2,000, UMPD completed a crash report.

At about 11 p.m., an information complaint was filed at Oxford Hall after reports of a group of students running through the hallways and knocking on doors as they passed. Several students contacted UMPD simultaneously due to their frustration about being abruptly woken up. UMPD made contact with the group of offending students and warned them to stop. The group heeded the request, as no further reports were filed.

10/21:

At 10:30 a.m., an information complaint was filed at an undisclosed location after two students were assaulted off campus. UMPD made contact with the students and gathered requested information.

10/22:

Around 1 p.m., an information complaint was filed at Stevens Hall after a student found what they perceived to be an offensive drawing on their desk. UMPD arrived and upon inspecting the drawing deemed it was not offensive or harmful enough to warrant further investigation. The report does not specify what the drawing depicted.

At 6 p.m., an information complaint was filed through Campus Eyes concerning a student smoking marijuana inside Kennebec Hall. UMPD searched the hall but were unable to pinpoint the source of the odor and did not detect any smells during their search.
