Campus Currents: Bangor Symphony Orchestra

The Bangor Symphony Orchestra is one of two professional orchestras in Maine and the oldest continually operating community orchestra in the country. The orchestra puts on about a dozen concerts each year, including performances of The Nutcracker with the Robinson Ballet Company and at least one pops concert in the summer. The orchestra performs in the Collins Center for the Arts on the UMaine campus.

Style is a fickle and friendly creature. And Saturday night, before a large crowd at the Maine Center for the Arts, style was showcased by both the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and three Broadway sensations. Their style, charisma and passion were enough to bring a little bit of New York to Maine.
