Campus Currents: Robert Kennedy

Robert A. Kennedy has served as UMaine's 18th president since April, 2005. He originally served as vice president for academic affairs and provost in 2000 before serving as interim president.

Kennedy is from Minnesota where he attended University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He has a Ph.D. in botany from the University of California, Berkeley and has served as a faculty member or administrator for University of Iowa, Washington State University, The Ohio State University, the University of Maryland and Texas A&M University.

In 2009, Kennedy was a finalist for the position of president at Kansas State University but withdrew his name from consideration before a decision was made.
