Backcountry Squatters: President Maeve Merkle-Scotland

This week on Anecdote, we bring you a conversation with the President of UMaine’s chapter of Backcountry Squatters, Maeve Merkle-Scotland. Backcountry Squatters is a national network of college outdoor organizations creating a supportive space for women and gender queer people to experience the outdoors. UMaine’s chapter is young, hungry for ramen flavored mashed potatoes, and taking on the Maine wilderness by storm. You can find UMaine’s Backcountry Squatters on instagram @backcountrysquatters_umaine. The group meets every Thursday at 6pm in the Foster Center for Innovation.

Hosted by Maine Campus Editor-in-Chief Rebekah Sands and Podcast Producer Kate Fogg. Produced by Kate Fogg.
