We have officially completed 11 weeks of the NFL season. This, of course, means that teams are laying it all on the line to make a playoff push. Here are some Fantasy Football players that had fantastic weeks and could help (or hurt) your Fantasy Football teams chances of making that jump into the playoff bracket.
Overachievers:
Kenneth Gainwell: The Steelers half back has been one of the best secondary option running backs in the NFL. Gainwell had three carries for 24 yards and caught seven passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns. This earned Gainwell 29.5 Fantasy Points this week, more than tripling his predicted 9.75.
Sean Tucker: Tucker started the year as the third running back listed on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers depth chart, however, various injuries propelled him into being the primary back this week against the Buffalo Bills. Tucker popped off, having the first three-touchdown game of his young career. He ran the ball 19 times for 106 yards and two scores then tacked on two catches for 34 yards and an additional touchdown; this earned Tucker 34 Fantasy Points.
Michael Wilson: The third-year wide receiver out of Stanford is the ultimate definition of “guy who can help you win your league.” With Cardinals star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr out this past week against the 49ers with appendicitis, Arizona needed another player to step up, and Wilson did exactly that. This was the highest scoring Fantasy Football game of Wilson’s career, his 15 catches for 185 yards earned him 33.5 Fantasy Points this week, the highest of any wide receiver. Coming into the week, Wilson was predicted 9.83 Fantasy Points, which he outscored by nearly 24 points, making him the overachiever of the week.
TreVeyon Henderson: The rookie running back for the Patriots had the best game of his young career this past week, having 93 all-purpose yards including five receptions and three touchdowns against the Jets. This earned TreVeyon 32.3 Fantasy Points this week, the most by a Patriots running back this year. Henderson looks to build on this strong performance next week against a mediocre Bengals defense.
Underachievers:
Ja’Marr Chase: The Bengals wide receiver had his lowest scoring Fantasy game since week 1 of this season. Chase only caught three of his ten targets racking up 30 yards for a total of six Fantasy Points, a poor performance for one of the game’s best receivers. Along with this, Chase will be suspended for next Sunday’s game against the Patriots after he was caught spitting on Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Justin Herbert: One of football’s brightest young quarterbacks was absolutely abysmal this week. The Chargers star had 10 completions for 81 yards and one interception. He also ran the ball three times and picked up 21 yards on the ground. This stinker of a game earned Herbert 4.34 Fantasy Points, his least since Week 14 of 2023.
Chargers Defense: While we are on the train of slandering the Chargers, I am going to pack on some additional hatred to their defense. LA allowed the Jacksonville Jaguars to put up 35 points and didn’t even manage to sack Trevor Lawerence once. This gave the Chargers -2 Fantasy Points of the week, meaning a fantasy owner would have been in a better position had they just not started a defense. The Chargers need to regroup and find themselves during this week’s bye.
