Police Beat for Feb. 12

Feb. 1

9:15 p.m.

University of Maine Police Department (UMPD) officers responded to a resident assistant (RA) complaint of loud music on the third floor of York Hall. Inside an intoxicated female was found. The female was questioned by officers and did not have a medical marijuana card despite being in possession of paraphernalia. She was summoned for possession of paraphernalia and possession of liquor by a minor.

Feb. 2

11:41 p.m.

UMPD officers responded to an RA complaint of underage drinking in the lobby of Somerset Hall. Officers approached a male student and confiscated alcohol from his backpack from his backpack. He was summoned for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.

1:33 a.m.

UMPD officers were patrolling College Avenue and witnessed two females walking and propping each other up. One of the females fell in a snowbank and was approached by officers and questioned. She claimed she was intoxicated from vodka. She was summoned for illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

Feb. 3

10:29 p.m.

UMPD officers responded to an RA complaint of an odor of marijuana in Oxford Hall. The male was searched and cooperated with police, handing over several pieces of paraphernalia. He was summoned for possession of paraphernalia and marijuana for being under 21.

12:55 a.m.

UMPD officers responded to an RA complaint of an odor of marijuana on the fourth floor of Penobscot Hall. The male did not have a medical marijuana card and was under 21. He was summoned for possession of paraphernalia.

Feb. 5

10:46 p.m.

UMPD officers were patrolling on Long Road and stopped a female after she failed to stop at a stop sign. The officer smelled marijuana and searched the car, finding marijuana in the process. She was summoned for possession of paraphernalia, marijuana and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Feb. 8

10:18 p.m.

UMPD officers on foot detected an odor of marijuana in the lobby of Cumberland Hall. A female student had a mason jar with marijuana and no medical marijuana card. She was summoned for possession of paraphernalia and pot.
